I’ve always grown up knowing that my great-grandmother was a trail-blazing woman with an indomitable entrepreneurial spirit. On May 20th, the Texas Historical Commission recognized my great-grandmother’s achievements with a historical marker. The year women got the right to vote, my great-grandmother, Anna Ripps, started her grocery store business in Poteet, Texas.
